Banner is a fancy gelding with lovely movement in a stylish, elegant package. We expect him to mature over 16 hands.

His sire, Banderas the first approved son of the sensational European stallion Balou du Rouet, to stand in North America. Banderas is a very typey athletic stallion, with a lovely expression, clearly stamped by in looks by his sire. Banderas has three very good athletic gaits, and shows a huge amount of jumping potential, he jumps in classic form, and show a lot of scope. He also has a very good temperament and good nature. Sire Balou du Rouet is highly sought after as a breeding stallion, he is very known for producing type, elastic movers, and his oldest offspring are showing his prepotency for first class jumping ability. Banderas comes from a very strong dam line through dam Grisette he combines some of the best bloodlines available. His dam sire is the legendary Grannus, one Germany's greatest sires with over five million DM in earnings, he is also the sire a multiple international and Olympic jumpers, including Top Gun La Silla(Jan Tops), Grand Plaisir(Ludger Beerbaum), Grannusch(John Witaker), Burmah Grand Slam (Nick Skelton) and Imperial to name a few. Grannus is also the sire of over 60 approved stallions.

His dam, Lena Mail is a Selle Francais mare imported from France. She was bred by one of the top breeders of Selle Francais in France. Lena has successfully shown in the Hunter ring. She is 16.1 hands tall. Her grandsire, Hand In Glove has had an extraordinary sporting career ; Well placed in racing at 2yrs old, then winning in Dressage (Prix St Georges level) until 8yrs, he started in CSO showjumping at 9yrs old. In 3 seasons, he managed to get to the level of World Cup Grand Prix CSO. In 1990 & 1991, 7 victorys and 23 placings with John Charlebois or his wife including: 3rd Neiman Marcus Futur class ($7 500), 3rd Range Rover Grand Prix at San Francisco ($ 10 000), and 7th Grand Prix CSIW The Oaks ($100 000). HAND IN GLOVE possesses a particularly interesting pedigree coming out of the top family line of Nearco, his father BEST TURN had also produced XX winners in CSIW (MVP in USA) & CDI (Shining Moment in USA).

His dam's maternal 1/2 brother, Otto Mail has what it takes to be a very good dressage horse. He has a rare strength, above normal activity. It has 3 very good gaits, with an exceptional step. His ability to put together is very interesting for the work of Grand Prix. He was champion of the national competition standards and was approved SF 2005 at 3 years old. OTTO is recognized as the being a great example of the SF type: he provides two streams of blood very little cross, with both sides is the evidence of their qualifications.
