Casanova is tall, elegant and incredibly uphill. This is a stunning colt who is already displaying gaits that will allow him to succeed wildly as a dressage prospect. Casanova is already friendly and adores scratches. He is curious and aware with a certainty that he is special (and we think so too). We expect Casanova to easily mature to 17 hands.
The sire, Contucci won the dressage portion of his 100-Day test with an impressive 147.11, earning six 9’s. He successfully showed in Germany, including winning a Bundeschampion qualifier with a 9.2. After his importation Contucci was only lightly shown, but was trained through the FEI levels. Contucci was the 2005 USEF Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year, the 2009 USEF Dressage Sire of the Year, and has sired more USDFBC Grand Champion or Reserve Champions than any other stallion. Winners at the 2006-2009 USEF Young/Developing Horse National Championships were sired by Contucci, and his offspring are successfully competing from training through FEI Levels with amateur, junior, and professional riders.
Dam, Danella is a 16.2 hand, black imported Hanoverian mare. Danella is a sweet mare with a lovely head and neck. She has wonderful dressage quality movement. Her trot is elastic and shows wonderful suspension. Her offspring have great temperaments and rideability. Her offspring's achievements include Regional Champions, Elite Mare status, high scoring horse at AHS inspection, AHS Awards and winning classes up to 3rd level.
Danella's sire, De Niro was vice champion of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with a score of 141.93 points and champion of rideability with a score of 145.41 points. De Niro passes on his excellent rideability and fantastic movements as well as type and expression to his progeny. 1,341 offspring are registered with the Hanoverian Society. 14 of his 22 approved sons are registered with the first-class stallion book, 99 daughters were awarded state premium mare. He is the sire of 123 Verden auction foals and of 109 horses sold at riding horse auctions. 434 progeny achieved placements in the dressage ring up to advanced level and contributed to De Niro’s fantastic dressage breeding evaluation of 147 points. Together with his sons, he has an incredible impact and influence on breeding.De Niro was one of the best jumping stallions at the 1995 Verden stallion market and ranged among the top at the 1996 stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf, where he received the highest rideability score and became overall second in performance class I. De Niro has meanwhile won dressage competitions at the elementary and intermediate levels and qualified for the national dressage championships of 1998 and 1999. Merely age seven, he already won Prix’ St. Georges, Intermédiaire I and II as well as Grand Prix events during the 2000 season. In 2000, he was furthermore declared the best new generation Grand Prix horse and in 2001, he won the Championship of German Professional Riders, ridden by his trainer Dolf- Dietram Keller. This was followed in 2002, by wins in international Grand Prix events. De Niro was awarded the I-a main premium by the Oldenburg Association in 1997 as a result of his overwhelming breeding value rating.
